Golden sun, savory pies and iconic stadiums - what more could an Three Lions follower desire?

Well, perhaps an Ashes series in Australia where they remain in contention to win back the Ashes following the initial matches.

This is not the case this time, though, after a comprehensive 82-run win in Adelaide gave Australia 3-0 up for the fourth straight contest on their own soil.

England's famous supporters' group, the vocal contingent, have 3,000 fans traveling for the concluding fixtures in the SCG and MCG.

In addition, there are travel parties who will celebrate the holidays overseas, as well as families and friends embarking on a once-in-a-lifetime trip.

The Disappointed Travelers

The Ryding siblings are a prime example.

The four siblings had their itineraries and entry credentials arranged for the Melbourne and Sydney matches "12 months ago", dreaming of a historic English victory.

From afar, they've seen Australia outplay the visitors in just 11 days from their residence in their hometown.

"Everyone at work has been teasing me regarding the concluded contest for the last two weeks," commented one sibling.

"Our expectation had been that we would have something to play for upon our arrival."

Fading Positivity

There was plenty of positivity about England's chances of ending their 15-year wait for a victory down under before it began.

Yet now they are looking at the possibility of continuing a barren spell in the country to 19 consecutive Tests when the fourth Test gets under way in Melbourne this week.

The tourists - and their fans - will be hoping to sidestep a whitewash.

Alex said the "excitement and fun" of head coach the positive style of play in recent times had "renewed interest in" the five-day game for England fans.

But the Ryding siblings said they had realistic outlooks for the remaining matches - and all they are asking for from the players is "a show of spirit".

"All analysts points it out, but it all hinges on fortitude. 'Bazball' has been become a phrase now that is just, like, impractical batting," stated Rory Ryding.

"During a long match, you should dig in. Playing at deliveries 'outside the line has never been in the textbooks, and that is mainly the fault the batting lineup."

The Remaining Matches

Asked whether he believed England will triumph in a Test in this contest, one fan responded: "It appears the Aussies are just too good right now."

"It will require several individuals that delivers for the team and turns the game."

Despite the scoreline, the fans are excited about the trip.

"We will have a wonderful trip nonetheless," commented Katie Ryding. "We have to go with that attitude."

"Obviously it is disappointing we don't have more to play for, but we have invested a significant amount as it is."

"We will make the most of spending the festive season overseas. This will be mine and Rory's first time traveling during the festive period."

A teacher, Katie is focused on enjoying the lengthy journey as part of her seasonal break.

"Should the cricket disappoint, I've got golf to rely on," she added.
